I think I'm becoming more Chinese because I frequently attend large mass gatherings and am actually rather addicted to them. For example, the closing ceremony for this year's sports meeting was this afternoon. We were urged not to attend because of fears about H1N1, but Jodi and I couldn't resist. Last year it was one of the highlights of my year. The pageantry, long speeches, lots of marching, crazy performances, and crowds of thousands of people excite me. I also enjoy seeing my students, boys and girls alike, in shiny costumes.
