Recent days

Life is settling down again this week. The weekend was quite packed with activities, too. On Friday, our team went out to eat with Jodi's parents, who visited from California. After dinner the girls went to get a "hair washing" at one of the many salons. For only 8 kuai (about $1) someone washes your hair and massages your head and blow dries your hair for over an hour! It was a fun experience to do together, especially since the hair stylist guys were so flamboyant.

On Saturday I went to the zoo with my Chinese tutors and friends, Lily and Lansing. They also brought a couple more of their friends. They had never been to the zoo before, so they wanted to look at everything. The zoo was rather expensive for the average Chinese person- 22 kuai (about 3 dollars), so the zoo was packed with spoiled only children of middle and upper class families.

On Saturday night, my student Reborn, who is homesick, came over from new campus to my apartment on old campus. We talked and watched a movie. I gave her a choice of some new and classic movies. She ended up picking "Roman Holiday" with Audrey Hepburn and she loved it.

There's not much else to say for now. I'll leave you with some pictures and videos. Actually, I'm not sure if the videos are working. I'll try to fix them later.

The first picture is of us at the hair salon. The second is when we went to the zoo. The rest are sports meet!
